When Lee Brajkovic joined Andrews Meat Industries in 2019 as a pick and packer, she stepped into a role that would lay the foundation for her future growth.

Working in what she describes as “the last line of defence,” Lee gained firsthand insight into the teamwork and accountability it takes to deliver quality products to customers. Today, she brings that experience to her role as Night Customer Service Team Leader.

But her progression didn’t happen overnight, even if her work does now.

Lee moved into a part-time position in 2020 in customer service alongside her pick packing duties. With no previous experience in data entry or customer relations, she loved the opportunity to learn.

“I was eager to grow and I had an amazing team supporting me,” Lee says.

Moving between the floor and the phones fast-tracked her learning and helped her see the bigger picture of how the business operates.

When a full-time customer service role became available in 2021, Lee stepped up. She confidently took customer calls, processed orders and helped ensure deliveries ran smoothly.

“I love solving problems and managing expectations,” she says. “My experience in pick packing helped me understand the process from start to finish, which made supporting customers much easier.”

Throughout her journey, Lee credits two key mentors, Abirami (Abby) Mohan, Customer Service, Logistics and Cruise Supervisor and Head of Commercial Maria Finegan, for encouraging her development and believing in her potential.

In 2023, Lee was offered the role of Night Customer Service Team Leader. She’s the first to admit that stepping into leadership felt a little daunting.

“I was a little hesitant at first but my focus soon shifted from managing tasks to supporting and inspiring my team,” Lee says.

Each night Lee helps customers, coordinates delivery routes for butchers and guides her team to deliver the best possible service. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Lee is also a trained First Aid Officer and Fire Warden, contributing to the safety and wellbeing of her colleagues every day.

For Lee, her story reflects the culture at Andrews Meat Industries.

“Some people think you need to know someone to get promoted, but that’s not true,” she says. “Hard work, commitment and stepping outside your comfort zone are what really matter.”

Lee is a strong believer that success starts with learning new skills and genuinely like what you do.

“Andrews Meat Industries isn’t just a place to work, it’s somewhere you can grow and enjoy the journey.”
