Meet Sunil Gayam: Fourteen Years of Growth and Success at Andrews Meat Industries

Sunilkumar 'Sunil' Gayam's story with Andrews Meat Industries (AMI) began in 2011 as a part-time employee, whilst he completed his studies. Today, fourteen years later, his journey shows what happens when hard work meets a company that genuinely cares about its people.

Sunil started his journey at Creative Food Solutions packing orders for retail stores and foodservice venues, while completing his studies. Creative Food Solutions is a division within AMI, and it turned out to be the perfect place to kick off what would become a pretty impressive career.

His rise through the company shows what's possible when you've got the drive and the right support. From packer to Creative Food Solutions team leader, then team supervisor, and onward through roles in quality control and as Packaging Manager. Sunil then served as the Continuous Improvement Manager for Operations at Creative Food Solutions, overseeing areas that included packing, despatch, transport, and warehouse logistics. Each role built on the last, with AMI backing him with training and support every step of the way. Just last month Sunil has taken another step up to become the Operations Manager, overseeing the entirety of Creative Food Solutions' operations.

Throughout this journey, Sunil found a mentor in Ian Hill, a chef-turned-General Manager of Creative Food Solutions. "At every stage I moved to another role, Ian Hill played an important role and encouraged me to step up," Sunil reflects. It's this kind of personal support that really shows how AMI looks after its people and helps them grow.

The impact of this support hasn't been lost on Sunil. "The knowledge and experience I've gained from Creative Food Solutions made me feel confident and proud," he says. "All the time I've worked here, I have been supported, trained, and guided to feel confident that I can do this job."

For Sunil, his career progression represents more than personal achievement—it's a story he's proud to share. "It is a great success story that I would like to share with the rest of my Andrews Meat family," he says, showing just how much AMI values giving people the chance to grow and succeed.
