Mad about health: The Mad Foodies range has been recognised in three different categories in the 2025 Healthy Food Guide Special Diet Awards, further cementing the brand’s reputation for delivering delicious, nutritious and science-back meals that cater to a variety of dietary requirements.
The Mad Foodies Chunky Chicken Casserole, winner in the Low Salt category, was also a winner in the 2025 Healthy Food Guide Lunchbox Awards Australia. This nourishing 350g meal contains 12g of carbs, 29g of proteins and only has 221mg sodium in each meal, which is far below The Healthy Food Guide’s recommended 700mg sodium per serve.
The Mad Foodies Beef Bourguignon, winner in the Gluten-Free category, is a hearty, 300g French-inspired favourite made with 98% Australian ingredients, containing only 10g of carbs and 19g of protein.
Rounding out the list of winners is The Mad Foodies Vegan Moroccan, winner in the Plant-Based category, a 300g meal made with 75% Australian ingredients and boasts just 10g of carbs and 14g of protein per meal.
“We are delighted to have three of our six meals recognised across multiple categories in this year’s Healthy Food Guide Special Diet Awards,” says Ian Hill, chef and mastermind behind The Mad Foodies.
The Healthy Food Guide Special Diet Awards make it easier for consumers to navigate supermarket aisles when shopping for specialty foods. Using criteria outlined by an independent Advisory Panel and selections made by accredited dietitians, the awards spotlight the top healthy products designed to meet specific dietary needs.
“It took years of research, development, trial and error and a great deal of dedication from the entire team to create this range of meals and reach a stage where we could put the CSIRO Low-Carb Diet mark on them. These awards are proof that all our work paid off, and that these meals truly reflect the mission behind The Mad Foodies – to support healthier lifestyles with science-backed meals that don’t compromise on flavour or convenience.”
The current meals in The Mad Foodies range are one of the only ready-meals on the market that feature a front of packet label signalling they are suitable for the CSIRO Low-Carb Diet. Meals in the range have been formulated, and passed independent testing, to ensure dietary benchmarks meet specifications for the science-based CSIRO Low-Carb Diet.
Now stocked in select Drakes, SupaBarn and IGA stores across South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, and the ACT, The Mad Foodies continues to grow its range and national reach – offering Australians award-winning, science-backed meals to suit a range of dietary requirements.
