Breaking barriers: Ruby’s rise at Andrews Meat Industries

When Amarjeet 'Ruby' Kaur started her first job in Australia at Andrews Meat Industries, she spoke only a little English – but what she lacked in language, she made up for in determination.

With the support of Creative Food Solutions, Ruby has grown from strength to strength. The team has backed her every step of the way, investing in her development and helping her build skills and confidence.

She’s now completed a First Aid Certification, a People First Leadership Course, and Mental Health Awareness training – achievements that have opened new doors at work and made a real difference in her life.

Ruby Kaur’s journey with Creative Food Solutions, part of Andrews Meat Industries, began 10 years ago on the packaging line. With limited English but plenty of grit, she took every opportunity to learn and grow, supported by mentors who believed in her.

She kicked things off as a Packaging Operator, then moved up the ranks to become a Team Leader and Packaging Supervisor. Not one to stand still, she made the switch to the despatch team, first as a Supervisor. Today, she’s running the show as Despatch Manager – a leadership role she’s worked hard to achieve.

Ruby says that mentors like Ian Hill and Sunilkumar have been a huge part of her journey, guiding her with great guidance and support.

Thanks to them, she’s been able to move between different departments – from packaging to despatch – and pick up valuable experience along the way.

“I’m really happy to be part of Creative Food Solutions. It’s helped me grow both professionally and personally,” Ruby says.

Ruby’s story really captures what Andrews Meat Industries is all about as a family business. Her hard work and dedication, her eagerness to learn and grow, and the mutual respect and admiration she shares with her colleagues and mentors – it’s the perfect mix that’s helped her build a truly rewarding career.
